Admissions
Boys Hope Girls Hope will consider a child for placement in our homes given that the following criteria are met.
The child must:
- Be between the ages of 10 and 14 at the time of admission. Older children may be considered based on academic record and desire to participate.
- Have the academic potential to succeed in a college-preparatory program.
- Be open to a long-term, value-centered, nurturing residential setting.
- Not exhibit serious emotional/behavioral problems; not have severe learning disabilities; not use drugs and/or alcohol.
- Have the ability to relate positively to others in a group setting.
- Understand and accept the expectations of Boys Hope Girls Hope and choose to join the program voluntarily.
- Have the support of family.
Application Process
Contact Boys Hope Girls Hope to discuss the possibility of a scholarship for the student. A personal interview will be arranged between the referral agent, Boys Hope Girls Hope, the child and his/her family.
Following a successful interview, the following materials are submitted to Boys Hope Girls Hope by the child's parents/guardians:
- Application
- Academic Record & Immunizations
- Letter from the child to Board requesting consideration
Once the completed application has been received by Boys Hope Girls Hope, arrangements will be made for:
- Psychological/Academic Testing
- Visit by student & family to program
Following testing & visit, the Program Commitee of the Board of Directors determines a student's acceptance into the program.
