Boys Hope Girls Hope was founded in St. Louis Missouri in 1977 on the belief that, given better circumstances, children with potential can reach their potential. The San Francisco Bay Area affiliate was established in 2000 and, while following the policies and guidelines of the national BHGH model, operates as a separate 501(c)(3) organization. As such, we are responsible for our own fundraising, program and staff development, and outreach. BHGH-SF Bay Area is governed by a Board of Directors that reflects the social, cultural and spiritual diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area.
